Winter Concert December 7th

November 29, 2021

I’m excited to invite you to a combined winter music performance featuring students from Santiam Canyon Preschool, Santiam Elementary School, and Santiam Junior Senior High School. Thanks to some clever scheduling and creative collaboration, families can enjoy watching all their children, regardless of which school they attend, perform in one night. If you do not have students performing for SJSHS, a brief intermission will allow you to head home and make room for others.

Event Details: December 7th, 2021

  • Performance will be in the  SJSHS Gymnasium
  • Doors open at 5:30 pm.
  • Preschool and Elementary School performances begin at 6:00 pm.
  • Intermission: 7:00 pm to 7:15 pm
  • Santiam Junior Senior High School performances begin at 7:15.

What should students wear?

Clean, presentable holiday attire would be great! No holiday clothes? No worries. We’re happy to have students participate no matter what they wear.

What about masks?

This is a voluntary extracurricular activity held indoors. All participants and spectators must wear a mask in compliance with ODE guidance; however, students will be allowed to remove their masks to sing during their performance. Families can choose to have their student remain masked or perform unmasked based on their level of comfort. That said, masks must be secured in place following the performance. Any student or family concerned about the spread of Covid may choose not to participate in the event.

Where should my student go when we arrive?

Students will sit with their teacher and class throughout the elementary portion of the program. Areas in the stands facing the audience will be marked by grade level and district staff will be available to help assist younger students.

What happens during intermission?

After the elementary program is over, parents will be advised on where to pick up their student. During intermission, families may choose to leave the event or stay to watch the SJSHS students perform at 7:15.

What if I have family or friends who cannot attend?

This event will be livestreamed from our District webpage. I will also be sure to update our social media accounts on instagram and facebook so that the link is available to view and share.

Any other questions? Please reach out and we will be happy to help. Special thanks to Mr. Harris, Ms. Aldridge, Ms. Rasmussen, Ms. Dodge, the SJSHS Leadership team, and many others who dedicated their time to make this event not only possible, but beautifully decorated. Santiam truly is a community that stands together. Looking forward to seeing our students perform together. What a fantastic way to welcome in the holiday season.

Wishing you the very best,

Corrine McGinnis
